Hi Bill, our son who is a mechanical engineer PE, has designed many uv filtration systems for hospitals.

Our daughter and granddaughter are asthmatics,we had a uv system install in their ac and it helped tremendously! Our 13 year old grand son changes the uv light as needed.

WTF.........Is our class of 64 hacked by the White House? I asked Wayne a simple question from a non medical person (I owned a materials testing company for 42 years BUT construction materials, in other words ultimate strength we broke everything!) It seems strange Bill and I asked our class of 64 Dr. a question and a few days later I see on Morning Joe the President posts a question very much like the one I asked Dr, Wayne. Hmmmm.

Bill any thoughts?

Jack

Look ... everything we say on the phone ... text ... email ... post in anyway is being captured and stored ... and they have algorithms to kick out things they are interested in ... so yes we are hacked

The UV light treatment for the Coronavirus is all over the tv new tonight

We should have applied for a 10 billion grant to study it and to build a prototype

Hi Toni,     Thanks Bill now I'll have to put in a "ring" doorbell to check for govt. agents. I'll deny it's me......The Jack your looking for doesn't look like a 70's hippy (no haircut in months). DAM, I think I just gave away my new look, should have thought of that before I hit send.

Okay, so i have been keeping up with what everyone has been saying and Vinny you are right, it is easy to make a mask if you have any kind of material.  My daughter is a Nurse Practitioner so she does usually approve whatever mask we wear but have been trying not to go out too much. It does aggravate me to have to go into a store where out of maybe 20 people inside there are only a few wearing masks.  Although the mask does help to protect us, it mostly protects the others that don't have a mask on.  I can't cough or sneeze on them because the mask stops the spread, unfortunately the same does not go for the others.

Anyway what I wanted to say was that so many of you sound so smart and informed medically, I feel rather ignorant sometimes about it. My profession was as a hair dresser when I first graduated then a deputy sheriff for 20 years so when it comes to medical issues, I know only what my daughter TRIES to explain to me.

It is good that so many have come together and even if we can't be in person for a while, I love seeing some of the names that I had for so long forgotten.

For those of you that remember me, I was a little more of a quiet geek I guess. Most of my friends were from the class of "63" as they lived in my neighborhood. Amazing how life changes us. I would love to hear from some of you and for those of you that did not know me, HI anyway. It is good to read the posts.

At the Grocery store most are not wearing masks or gloves

what about the Grocery store workers who are less than 4-5' of customers all day

Plus most of Grocery store customers are not following the "One Way" aisle arrows ...

Most people at the least... are very disappointing

It's been a few weeks since I've gone to our local Publix, Mask on, gloves, imagine my shock when 2 little old ladies (probably from a class of 62 ) verbaly abused me for going the wrong way!!! I must say when I shop I don't look down and missed the the arrows and signs., I'm soooo very glad the mask hid my identity but probably won't wear the same cloths. MAN I'll be glad when this is over and I can go back to crashing into other peoples carts.

Jack, the embarassed

That is funny, Jack!! Shame on you! LOL!! (...but sorry it happened to you!) My daughter was walking through the grocery store parking lot on her way to the entrance, had not yet donned her mask, but with every intention of doing so, (and was clearly beyond 6 feet from any human), and someone yelled “A**hole!” at her!! This is very reminiscent of the “Sept 11th” aftermath when everyone was SO KIND to one another, only to quickly return to “the dark side”, accompanied by extreme rudeness!!! :-( So sad! We’re all in this together, doing the best we can!! If we could all just show a little patience and kindness, what a wonderful world this would be!!

Jack & Toni, yep, it's getting rough at Publix.

Thats pretty funny stuff. Yes going to Publix can be an experience these days. My wife and i were surprised to see how many shoppers had no masks on. Most all had no gloves.

I must commend the Publix staff as they all had on masks and gloves. As far as experiences go....i was standing at the seafood counter buying a piece of salmon and turned my back on my basket to watch the fish being weighed and bagged. I heard a rustling sound behind me and when I turned around there was a rather robust older lady riffling thru my basket obviouslty looking for something. I sarcastically asked if I could help her and also asked what was she looking for. Her reply was" toilet paper and hand sanitizer." She continued," I thought maybe you had some extra". Upon which she turned around and walked away to surely conduct her next "Robin Hood exercise". It was so startling that I stood there and began laughing.

Stay safe everyone.

All the best,

Bruce and Kim Nierenberg

Hi everyone - these messages are funny and uplifting! We need humor at this time in our crazy journey.

I haven't been to Publix in 7 weeks! My daughter-in-law is shopping for me as I'm in the "elderly"wink group even though I'm healthy with no underlying issues. I've used instacart a couple of times as I needed baking supplies to feed my hobbie of baking chocolate chip cookes and brownies! Just had to pray and not stress that the delivery person took all the precautions - mask and gloves.

I'm blessed to have a backyard butterfly and bird sacturary here in Miami Springs so that keeps me busy too.

Blessing to all with hopes you are staying safe and well.

I woke up this morning thinking oh S@%$t another boring day! I think I'll clean my cars and do a little work on my race car. THEN!!!!  out of the blue came an image of Mr. Duncan's 8th grade Filer english......and a horrid thought,

If your that bored why don't you diagram a sentance........I'm not!!! and never have been that bored, why would anyone bust up a perfectly good sentence. 8th grade english with Mr. Duncan almost put me in therapy if there was such a thing!!! Where did that come from!!!

Jack, never been in therapy......OH it's love bug season again in Florida, it's too bad to break up their sexual bliss but stay away from my car!!!! To late for the (hate this word) "senior" shopping hour. Stay tuned I'll let you know how that turns out.

Hi Margaret,

We are coming up on an important day to the Spanish, it's May 5th. One of my favorite Jr. high school teachers was Mr Mandell, he taught history, I never liked school that much but his class was one I hardly ever slept in. I may have dozed off during his class on the importance of this date to the Cubans, then all Spanish people but as I remember it in a sleepy fog it goes like this........

Way back during the American expansionist period prior to WW1 the USS Mayo a state of the art battleship of it's day was at amchor in a Cuban harbor showing Americas might in South America. During the evening of May 5 a group of Spanish dissidents snuck on board the mighty battleship and opened a valve that allowed water into the ship and it sank...... no lives were lost BUT from that time on the spanish celebrate Sinko Da Mayo.

I love reading all the posts and can relate to most, such as publix one way rows and not looking down. My attention was drawn to Mr. Duncan and the diagramming of the sentences. I had not thought of Jr High for a long time.  Does anyone remember in HHS, a teacher, I believe her name was Mrs. Stone. 2nd floor.  She did not believe in spit wads but she let her class reach out the window and grab small pebbles and throw them.  I will never forget my mother coming home from a teachers/parents meeting so outraged but laughing at the same time.....when friends of ours who had a daughter in our class who had been hit in the eye by one of the rocks asked, Why do you allow your students to throw rocks in class? Her answer was..."well, spit wads are so unsanitary. That teacher used to wear bedroom slippers to class and sometimes would wear her animal print robe if she was chilly.

Just wondering who else might have been in one of her classes?
