I am so sorry to hear this sad news.  Gary and I both grew up in southeast Hialeah, and his mother, Ona, and my mom were good friends in the SE Hialeah Women's Club.  We haven't been in touch for many years, but I will always remember him as a tall, blond, always smiling young man.  May God bless his wife and family and provide comfort to them in their loss.  Rest in peace, Gary.

Gary was a good friend who lived on S.E. 2nd Pl in Hialeah, down the street from my husband Tim, and next door to Tim's Aunt Nan.  I remember his family well, and spent hours in coffee clutches with his mom and neighbors when Tim was in Viet Nam.  Gary always kept in touch with his neighborhood friends, and although we didn't live near each other after high school, he would often call just to keep in touch.  Gary watched over Tim's sister Penny while Tim was in the Navy and introduced her to his Coast Guard Buddy, Steve, whom she married.  He loved children and raised several that were not his own, including two that he adopted.  Gary loved God and Jesus as his savior, and was active in his church.  We were able to attend his final service, and can attest to the fact that he was loved by many.  Gary, old friend, you will be missed!
