Henry Bryan O'Steen

Henry Bryan O'Steen, age 74, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones on June 26, 2020. He was born January 27, 1946 in Jacksonville Florida to Henry Ford O'Steen and Edith Ruth O'Steen. Henry graduated from Hialeah High School in 1964. After graduation he married Mary Jane Hunt and worked for Aerodex as a plant foreman until 1969. Henry and Mary had one son, Richard Bryant O'Steen (deceased). Henry was a master electrician in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and later Texas. Henry worked for CE Building Products for several years until founding Electriko and working as an electrical contractor in South Florida. Henry went on to found Henry O'Steen Inc. in 1980. In 1982 Henry married Valeta Elaine Barthelmas and moved to Texas in 1983 to develop a residential subdivision in Justin, Texas. Henry and Valeta have two sons, Henry Bryan O'Steen II and James William O'Steen. Henry and Valeta developed the Willow Springs Water Utility Service in Denton County, Texas. Henry joined Excide Electronics from 1988 to 1997. From 2000 to 2018 Henry worked as a Senior Project Manager for a group of companies including North American Atlantic and Edwards Airfield Services (EAS).

Henry was a true friend. He was gruff and straight talking. He was fair and honest with everyone, no matter what their associations with him were. He valued people at their base level and often surprised people with insights about them that uplifted them and assisted them in what they wanted to achieve. If he saw a chance to help, he did.

What he called "his men" were basically everyone who ever worked for him. He started working his own men in 1965 and stopped in 2019. Over Henry and Valeta's 38 year partnership, several businesses and moving from Florida to Texas, Valeta witnessed many calls from them. They would call with pride over everything from starting their own businesses to graduating schools and newborns. The challenges that Henry liked best were hard (interesting) questions on electricity or contracting. Henry took pride in his safety record over so many years and so many people.

Henry could never be summed up in a few paragraphs. The mark he left on the world lives on in those he loved and those whose lives he touched. Henry was deeply loved in life and will be deeply missed.
