What's on your mind

This is a place to post comments, photos, whatever...about growing up in the Hialeah Area...or anything else that is on your mind. In the past, we've been using our individual webpages for this purpose, but now we have a dedicated forum on our website. Please note that this forum is "not secure" and that comments you make are available to anyone that visits this website.

If you post a comment about a deceased classmate in this section, please also post one on the classmate's "In Memory" page. Let me interject another great pizza eatery, Jimmy Setinbrino SP? his family owned a great Itallian restaurant on Palm Ave near Hialeah horse track. Jimmy used to deliver Italian bread usually still warm to my and many other houses, He was a real entrepreneur, and a friend.

Hi all - in regards to the Pizza place it might have been Momma Mia Pizza which was on I think 41st Street  (or around that area) east of 4th Avenue. It was a little place but she had the best pizza.Went there a lot during Senior year 1964 as my friend lived on 41st Street.

For the greasest  pizza you couldn't beat May & Dave's on Palm & 12 st., plus cold draft Schlitz's dark beer

James, Mae & Dave's on Palm Ave. was the greatest, especially after playing sports. However, I understand that an apartment now resides there....Progress?  PK

What about Patsy's Pizza?  I thought it was the Mecca for post-football game eateries!

thanks

I agree. The pizza was great but it was by far the most popular place to go post football. sometimes impossible to get a tabke if you got there late. I beleive a classmate of ours family owned the place.

OH-OH, Bike Week conflict, not being a biker I forgot about the mass of riders that visit our Daytona-Ormond area early March. Nancy Blizzard is working on a venue we gathered at a few years back "Aunt Catfish" in Port Orange she will post the details here, the date will be the same (I guess the bikers don't go that far south) I hope this works for everyone, thank you, Jack

Aunt Catfishs has an upstairs room that we used to get during bike week. It's a busy place at night, but lunch or brunch might be easier to get.

Patty's Pizza is the place where we always ate after games... Diane, Sonia, Carolyn, and others.  Think that Karen Wolgast and I ate there as well.  SOOO many great memories!

Patsy's Pizza - E 4th Ave about 25th St.  Pat Settembrino HHS '63 parents owned it.  Yes, Sue we all had a blast - no matter where we were!  Gee we've all  had a lot of conversation about a pizza place - must have made a lasting  impact in our lives - or just good memories.

Hi Youngsters! I am writing on behalf of Sherry Lund who has planned our 1963 HHS reunion. She would like to include anyone from the class of '64 who may be interested . She would like to have as many football players and cheerleaders there as possible ( don't worry girls, you won't have to do a split and guys, you won't have to dive for a pass) and of course, as many from your class as possible. The reunion will be held on Sept. 22 and 23 at Cap't Hiram's in Sebastian, Fl.. Nothing is planned for Friday but the festivities start on Saturday at 11:00 am and go until midnight ( let's see how many are still awake). Cap't Hirams is very laid back, nothing fancy but very nice. She is having a Hawaii themed luau. So put on your tropical shirt or dress and join us. We would love to have you. If interested, call 772 388-8588, press 0 for operator and ask for KATIE ( she is in charge of our group). Tell her that you are with HHS class of 63. Our code is HH60.  Hope to see many of you there.🌺🌺🌺🌺 Aloha  >/p>

Reservations can also be made at the Best Western. Ask for JENNIFER and use the same code! 772 348-0361
